BVB International Academy Announces National Player Pools
Today, we are proud to announce the formation of our National Player Pools, a group of outstanding young players selected through the School of Excellence Pathway.
These players represent the very best of our growing international network, with athletes selected from across the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Each has earned their place through consistent commitment, strong character, and a demonstrated ability to grow within the BVB development framework.
The School of Excellence Pathway
The School of Excellence (SOE) is designed to identify, challenge, and develop players who show the potential to compete at the highest levels of the game. Through regional and national player identification events, athletes are evaluated by BVB International Academy staff in alignment with the Borussia Dortmund training philosophy, focusing on technical quality, tactical understanding, mentality, and coachability.
Selection into the National Player Pool is earned through a player’s performance across the local, regional, and national stages of the School of Excellence Pathway, highlighting consistency, commitment, and continued development at each level.
A Truly International Group
This year’s National Player Pool highlights the global nature of the BVB International Academy community. Players have been selected from the US, Mexico and the Caribbean. Together, they form a diverse, competitive, and unified group connected by a shared love for the game and a commitment to growth the BVB Way.
What Being Selected Means
Players selected to the National Player Pool will be part of a player pathway that serves as a resource for national team events, tournaments, and guest playing opportunities across the BVB International Academy network.
Earning selection into the National Player Pool is a reflection of the hard work put in by players, families, coaches, and local affiliates across our network. We are proud of each athlete and excited to continue supporting their development on and off the pitch.
